IES Abroad Vienna: Business, Economics & International Relations

Vienna occupies a unique position at the crossroads between east and west, north and south, long making the city a central meeting place for trade and international politics, as well as arts and culture. Students can pursue courses in disciplines such as Economics, Finance, International Business, Management, Marketing, and Political Science. They may also enhance their experience by taking courses in Art History, History, Humanities, Psychology, and more. Taking a German language course is required, but no background in the language is necessary.

Students who have sufficient German language skills can enroll in courses at the prestigious Universität Wien. Students can enroll in an internship or field experience, including placements in banking, consulting, and not-for-profit organizations. This hands-on experience includes time spent at their placement and an academic seminar that helps contextualize what they are learning. Internship placements include:

  • Arts & Culture
  • Business
  • Education Field Experience
  • Public Service

Proficiency in German language is not generally required, but can be helpful in securing certain Arts & Culture and Business internship placements.
