IES Abroad Madrid: Language & Area Studies
This program is designed for students who want to experience the vitality of Spain and the large urban university environment of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), one of the country’s most distinguished universities and where our Center is located.
Designed to help you strengthen your Spanish language skills, this program also caters to a wide range of academic interests and majors. In addition to a required Spanish course, you have the option to take IES Abroad-taught courses and local university courses at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM).
Students can take a preparation course for the Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) examination. Upon completion of the exam, you will receive a prestigious certificate verifying your Spanish-language abilities. As well, students can enroll in an optional internship placement and accompanying 3-credit seminar to add international work experience to your résumé. Internship placements include:
