Ryan Garcia delivering Social Media and the Law Keynote Address
Law & Society Series
Social Media and the Law
6th Annual Law & Society Symposium
Charleston Music Hall
Friday, January 31, 2014
8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Social media changes our perceptions of privacy, intellectual property, and ethics so quickly that the laws need to be reinterpreted frequently and even rewritten in order to keep pace. The 2014 Law and Society Symposium, hosted by the Riley Institute and the Charleston Law Review, focused on many of the issues and unanswered questions that arise with the unfettered sharing of information through social media. Ryan Garcia, legal director at Dell, was the keynote speaker for the sixth annual symposium, Social Media and the Law, held in Charleston on Friday, January 31, 2014. A variety of experts offered diverse perspectives on this timely and relevant topic in panel discussions throughout the day.
