Art Opens Doors creates an opportunity to select and invite elementary school students to convene at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts (GCCA) facility for one school day to produce art with the Brandon Fellows, young emerging artists ages 21-30 who represent the diversity of the Upstate. Students will be engaged in conversations about how our commonalities and our differences create opportunities for our community to thrive. As part of this conversation, they will work in teams with one of the Brandon Fellows to produce a piece of co-created art on a door to be showcased at GCCA during a First Friday open gallery event. Participating schools will then receive the door to display temporarily or permanently as they see fit with a descriptive sign about the project, “Art Opens Doors.”
