Matt is a fifth-year student at Furman University pursuing a BA in Theatre Arts. During his time with the Furman Theatre Department, he has contributed to a number of shows in multiple different disciplines as an actor, lighting designer, electrician, and stage manager. Some of his favorite works include acting as Jeff in Lobby Hero and light designing for the musical Daddy Long Legs, for which he received an award for Honorable Mention in Undergraduate Lighting Design at SETC 2019. All of these experiences cultivated Matt's understanding of what it means to be a theater artist and how they will shape his career after leaving Furman. Matt hopes to pursue lighting design after college and is very thankful to Furman for giving him the opportunity to work in all aspects of theater.
