Why Furman? I was initially drawn to Furman because of the opportunities for study away, internships and research that the university presents to undergraduates. I also chose Furman because the students are passionate about what they do. When I visited, every student I talked to was genuinely interested in what they were studying, and I wanted a school where I could engage with such students. The best part about Furman, though, is that it is a place where people truly feel that they can be themselves. I have never been in a place where I feel so accepted for who I am and what I love to do. That is why Furman has truly become a home for me.

Which professor has made the biggest impact on you at Furman? Dr. Kaup in politics & international affairs has made the biggest impact on me. She taught my first-year writing seminar and also led a three-week trip to China that I participated in. She is very passionate about what she teaches, and she helped me to understand the importance of the influence of culture and history on a society's political system. Going to China on her trip was the most educational experience I have ever had.

What is your favorite spot/thing to do in Greenville? Going to Bald Rock with friends to watch the sunset. It is a great way to relax after a long day, and the view is awesome!

What is your favorite Furman memory? Sophomore year homecoming was the best! It was great to see so many of my friends who had graduated the previous May. And the homecoming swing dance on the lawn at midnight is always so much fun.

In my spare time I like to...  Go to coffee shops and talk to people, read, play basketball and hang out with friends.
