Clinton has directed news and media strategy at Furman since August 2019. He is the university's spokesperson and is the contact for local, national and international news media. Before coming to Furman, Clinton was a director at Clemson University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, UNC Chapel Hill, the University of Maine and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was a medical reporter in Nashville, Montgomery, Alabama, and San Antonio. He has a bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and an MFA in narrative nonfiction from the University of Georgia.
