University to host meeting of physics teachers

GREENVILLE, S.C.—Furman University will host the fall joint meeting of the North Carolina and Southern Atlantic Coast Sections of the American Association of Physics Teachers Oct. 25-26. The meeting will also include the Society of Physics Students, Zone 5.
The conference, which includes a Friday night banquet as well as presentations and workshops on Saturday, is hosted by Furman’s Physics Department.
The keynote speaker at the banquet will be Dr. Bryan Baker, a 2003 Furman graduate who is a NRC Post-Doctoral Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Baker graduated from Furman with a degree in physics and earned his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering at Georgia Tech.
