Furman University Board of Trustees approves faculty promotions and tenure

The Furman University Board of Trustees approved promotions and tenure for a number of faculty members during its spring meeting on May 10, 2024. All recommendations for promotion and tenure are effective Aug. 1, 2024.
The following members of the faculty are recommended for tenure and promotion to the rank of Associate Professor:
- Christopher L. Hopkins, Health Sciences
- Kevin R. Kao, Art
- Eunice S. Kim, Classics
- Buket Oztas, Politics and International Affairs
- Chiara Palladino, Classics
The following members of the faculty, who are previously tenured, are recommended for promotion to the rank of Professor:
- Erik A. Anderson, Philosophy
- Kerstin K. Blomquist, Psychology
- Carolyn A. Day, History
- David J. Fleming, Politics and International Affairs
- Randolph E. Hutchison, Health Sciences
- Katherine A. Kelly, Education
- John E. Quinn, Biology
- Alison M. Roark, Biology
- Andrea Tartaro, Computer Science
- Natalie S. The, Health Sciences
The following members of the faculty, who hold the rank of Professor, are recommended for tenure:

- Jeremy R. Gulley, Physics
- Carole Salmon, Modern Languages and Literatures
Library faculty member Nashieli Marcano is recommended for promotion to the rank of Associate Librarian.
Library faculty member Christy Allen is recommended for promotion to the rank of Librarian.
Library faculty member Laura E. Baker is recommended for Associate Librarian Emeritus status.
The following members of the faculty are recommended for Emeritus Professor status:
