Spring 2024 Issue

In this issue of Furman magazine, we say a fond farewell to Nancy Cooper who is retiring after more than 35 years as a mentor and best friend to thousands of Furman students. This issue also features Sali Christeson ’07, founder of Argent and the new power suit; how student work to collect and map field data has made Greenville safer and more equitable for pedestrians, cyclists and public transit riders; and what happened on a spring day in 1973 that led Dennis Zeiger ’74 to create the most recognized icon of the Furman brand.

A More Accessible Greenville

A More Accessible Greenville

For years, Furman students have helped make Greenville, South Carolina, safer and more equitable for pedestrians, cyclists and public transit riders.

The Comeback

The City for All Seasons

A juicy cabernet paired with delightful nibbles. A bagpipe competition and border collie skills demonstration. An oil painting for your mantle that will get people talking. And when the temperature dips, an enchanting walk through the Grand Bohemian Lodge, halls decked for the holidays. Enjoy them all in Furman University’s hometown.
