Relax with family and friends at our beautiful amphitheater by the Furman University Lake and enjoy a cross-section of big band, jazz, international, contemporary, and traditional band and orchestra favorites in the “Sounds of Summer” presented by the Furman Department of Music. All concerts are free and open to the public and are part of Furman’s Cultural Life Program.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. every Thursday from May 30 through Aug. 1 (see schedule below for any changes). Bring your lawn chairs, a picnic dinner and a blanket, and get ready to enjoy the sounds of the summer! Each concert brings at least one hour of music.

In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be moved indoors to McAlister Auditorium. Contact the Music Department office at 864-294-2086 for details. If you call after 5 p.m., there will be a recording on the voicemail providing information about the concert location and performers for the week.
