Furman University’s Sue Samuels, director of bands, and Kelsie Hoffman ’26 join host Margaret Burnquist on the set of FOX Carolina’s “Access Carolina.” Samuels and Hoffman, a music education major, talk about the “Sounds of Summer” lakeside concert series taking place each Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at the amphitheater on campus, a tradition since 1968. Samuels describes the diversity of music performed in the lineup, and Hoffmann treats viewers to a mini piccolo recital.

Paul Hyde of Greenville Journal tees up the June 27 performance featuring the Lakeside Concert Band and the Greenville Chorale. The 220-member ensemble pays tribute to service men and women and includes a finale with fireworks.
