Furman alumnus and board member Charles M. Ambrose ’83 and Michael T. Nietzel, president emeritus of Missouri State University, write an article for Inside Higher Education about the failed rollout of a retooled FAFSA application process. The two recently published a book about navigating already choppy waters in higher ed due to COVID-19, waning confidence in the value of a college education and rising higher ed costs. They say for some smaller, tuition-dependent colleges, lower overall enrollment with the FAFSA fiasco is the last thing they need, and they offer tips for staying clear of the financial brink.
