Former Director of Bands Hicken to conduct, alum to premiere new music
Former Furman University Director of Bands Les Hicken will lead the Greenville Symphony Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Peace Center’s Gunter Theatre. The concert, “With the Wind,” spotlights wind instruments and features the works of Igor Stravinsky, Richard Strauss, Kurt Weill and a world premiere composition by Furman alumnus and clarinetist Erik Franklin ’11.
