Seeking justice in El Salvador
Furman religion professor Echol Nix visited El Salvador July 24-Aug. 1 as part of a U.S. delegation interested in learning more about the six Jesuit priests who were murdered nearly 25 years ago during the nation’s bitter civil war. The delegation was sponsored by the Ignatian Solidarity Network, a national social justice network. Nix and the other visitors participated in forums on the legacy of the six Jesuit priests and learned about their spiritual life and their extensive academic work as professors or researchers at Central American University. The Catholic News Service reported on the U.S. delegation’s trip to El Salvador.
