Lt. Chuck Nadd and Shannon Cantwell ’11 enjoy the tickertape parade.
If you saw the Super Bowl commercial Sunday night where Lt. Chuck Nadd got a surprise tickertape parade in his hometown after returning from a tour in Afghanistan, you might have thought his girlfriend, Shannon Cantwell, looked familiar. Cantwell, a 2011 Furman graduate, nominated Nadd for the honor and helped set up the arrangements so Anheuser-Busch could film the homecoming and create a Super Bowl commercial from it.
Cantwell, who works in Washington, D.C., for U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby, graduated summa cum laude from Furman with a degree in economics and political science. She is originally from Fairhope, Ala.
FOX News in Winter Park, Fla., reported on how all it all came together, and the Anheuser-Busch ad has received more than eight million hits on YouTube.
