Beginning at 9 a.m. EDT on Thursday, July 18, please complete the following steps to select your check-in time:

  1. Log in to your Housing Self-Service Portal
  2. Locate the New Student Check-in Banner at the bottom of the screen

You may edit your check-in time block in your Housing Self-Service Portal through Thursday, August 1. Time blocks are subject to availability.

Furman Student ID Card

Most of you received your Furman student ID card during Summer Orientation – don’t forget to bring it with you! Your Furman student ID card is used not only for identification, but also for the administration of meal plans, door access to your residence hall and other buildings on campus, library loan, and admission to various campus events.

If you did not attend Summer Orientation, please look for your student ID in the mail later this month. International students will receive their student ID upon arriving on campus in August.

Fall Orientation Schedule

We will have a variety of Fall Orientation programs and events scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 22, and continuing through the start of the fall semester. New student orientation will officially kick off with a welcome celebration on Friday, August 23 at 10:15 a.m. Parents and families are invited to attend with you. Click here and scroll down to Fall Orientation to view the full schedule. Note that there is also specific information included on that site for commuting students and international students.

Student Office for Accessibility Resources and FIND Furman

The SOAR staff enjoyed connecting with so many students throughout Summer Orientation! SOAR is available to assist and support students with a variety of accessibility needs.

Any students who wish to setup accommodations at Furman can do so by filling out the SOAR Student Application, and then uploading documentation of their disability/disabilities.

Students who identify as Neurodivergent and wish to be a part of FIND Furman can register via the FIND Furman Registration Form. If you have questions about accommodations or FIND Furman, please e-mail soar@furman.edu for additional information.
