Make the Most of your Residential Experience

Living with a roommate or in a residence hall is a new experience for many students. We encourage you not to rely on social media to get to know your roommate, but to reach out and connect via phone, Zoom, or even in-person! Explore some roommate resources here and check out this presentation on how to be a great roommate.

If you have any questions about your housing assignment, please e-mail the Department of Housing & Residence Life at housingandresidencelife@furman.edu.

You will receive additional information about New Student Move-In Day and Fall Orientation in a few weeks.

Campus Mail Services – the Print & Post Express

The Print & Post Express, or P2X, offers mail, print, and copy services for the Furman community.

A mailbox number has been assigned to each student so they can receive mail and packages on campus. You can look up your mailbox number by following the instructions below or by contacting P2X:

  • Log into MyFurman with your Furman username and password
  • Under the A-Z Index, select Workday
  • Click the circle profile icon on the top right
  • Select “View Profile” and “Contact”
  • Your mailbox number will be under the Institutional Contact Information

Students are able to ship items to Furman prior to your arrival, but we ask that you wait until after August 5 to do so. When shipping items to Furman, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Limit perishable items, such as food delivery, due to limited refrigeration space. Medicine will take priority, so depending on volume, your item may not be able to be refrigerated at all.
  • At this time we do not accept Amazon’s Whole Food deliveries

Limited carts and hand trucks are available for loan to assist in moving but require a signature and personal item to hold.

For additional information about the P2X’s mail services, including information about how to properly address your mail, please visit their website. Feel free to call the P2X staff at 864-294-2107 or e-mail at P2X@furman.edu with any questions, as well.

Looking ahead…

In the coming weeks you’ll receive additional information and reminders as your fall course registration period draws near. Please continue checking your e-mail regularly!
