Do you need a resource that you can pull out of your pocket to liven up class sessions, field experiences, study away activities, or meetings? The fifty easily applied techniques in The Discussion Book are designed to spur creativity, stimulate energy, keep groups focused, and increase participation. Faculty and staff are encouraged to join our fall reading circle to explore the diverse discussion strategies introduced in the book through applied practice in small groups. After an initial conversation to share insight gained from the book, small teams will practice facilitating discussion among colleagues using approaches selected from the book during remaining sessions. Anyone interested in a refreshing look at the power of discussion in any setting will enjoy this fall reading circle.
The reading circle will meet on Thursdays from 3-4:15pm on Sept. 7, Oct. 5, Nov. 2, and Dec. 7 in the Haynsworth Room (Library 128).
Please register for the circle here or at the event website link below.
