Talking Teaching: Learner-Centered and Inclusive Teaching Techniques

March 30, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Recent experience teaching during the pandemic may have exposed previously hidden aspects of course design and delivery that may have inadvertently excluded certain learners or limited learning strategies or creativity in your courses. How can we move forward with those lessons to foster instructional strategies that are inclusive, welcoming, encouraging, and flexible. Join Benjamin Dobbs and Sarah Adeyinka-Skold for this Talking Teaching session as they share insight from a recent workshop they completed on learner-centered and inclusive teaching organized by the Associated Colleges of the South. Following a brief review of the central takeaways from the workshop and impacts on their teaching practice, Benjamin and Sarah will guide participants through a discussion to identity practical opportunities to adapt or introduce instructional strategies that support transformative student learning for all.
