The Elaine Duffy Childers Award

The annual award offers substantial financial support for a currently enrolled student of French who plans to return to Furman for the subsequent academic year. The purpose of the award is “to provide a stipend for a student studying French to have a study abroad experience above and beyond that provided by the Furman in Rennes program.” The award funds a summer travel opportunity in a French-speaking country. Normally the student would be enrolled in a summer course at a French university or Alliance française, intern, or complete a work experience. Priority consideration is given to French majors. Applications are due in late February.
