Welcome to Roe
The Thomas Anderson Roe Art Building is one of the first buildings visitors see when they enter Furman University’s campus. Its impressive size and innovative design are indicative of the importance the university places on the visual arts. For art majors, it is their creative home. The building emphasizes unique features from skylight windows providing incredible natural light to architecturally vaulted ceilings to original stained glass windows to studios, classrooms, workspaces, galleries and more. The Furman Art Department welcomes you and your families to visit us throughout the year!

True Inspiration Artist in Residence Program
Our Artist in Residents bring a fresh approach to the Art Department, connecting with our students and sharing their skills, innovation and experience with them. Not only do they collaborate with students through workshops and talks, but they create their own works for a Furman exhibition that fosters thought and education for everyone on campus.

Our Furman Alumni
We love keeping up with our Furman Alums! Finding out where their undergraduate experiences led them to in the Arts is so exciting and rewarding, and this connection helps guide our current underclassmen in their future experiences and endeavors. Working together to further the Arts is incredible, and our alumni relationships help fuel that vision.
