Tyler Sniff |
GREENVILLE, S.C.—Tyler Sniff, a Furman University sophomore from Sharon Center, Ohio, has been awarded a NASA Aeronautics Scholarship.
The new scholarship, which provides $15,000 toward tuition, room and board for the next two years and a 2009 summer internship at a NASA Research Center, is meant to advance the nation’s aeronautics enterprise by investing in the educational development of the future aeronautics workforce.
Sniff, a physics major, is a member of the Furman club baseball team and a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. He is also the recipient of the Nora B. Mullens Biology Award. A 2006 graduate of Highland High School in Medina, he is the son of Alyce and Thomas Sniff of Sharon Center.
Work conducted at NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) is directed toward enhancing the state of aeronautics for the nation, transforming the nation’s air transportation system and developing the knowledge, tools and technologies to support future air and space vehicles. The ARMD focuses on cutting-edge research in traditional aeronautical disciplines.
