How to Get to Furman by Car

From Asheville, N.C., and points northwest, take I-26 to Hendersonville, N.C., then U.S. 25 South. In Travelers Rest, S.C., bear left onto U.S. 276 to Greenville (just past the Hampton Inn). Stay on U.S. 276 to the Furman exit.

From Atlanta and points southwest: take I-85 to I-385 N toward downtown Greenville. Due to construction, you will have to take the Laurens Road/Stone Avenue Exit. At the stoplight, turn Right onto Stone Avenue. You will continue straight for 1.5 miles and you will go through 6 stoplights. At the 7th stoplight, turn Right onto Rutherford Road. (This road will become Poinsett Highway and Highway 276). Continue straight for 4.7 miles and take the Furman Exit on the right.

From Columbia and points southeast: take I-26 to I-385 N toward downtown Greenville. Due to construction, you will have to take the Laurens Road/Stone Avenue Exit. How to Get to Furman by Air

The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport has been ranked by Conde Nast Traveler as the seventh best in the nation. It services most major airlines and/or commuter flights from around the country and includes direct flights from Atlanta, Washington, D.C., St. Louis, Philadelphia, Newark, Cincinnati, Toronto, and Munich, Germany.

Instructions once on Campus

To reach the Admissions Office by car from the front gate, travel halfway around the main traffic circle. Look for signs and turn right just before the Hartness Welcome Center and Alester G. Furman Administration Building. You may park in the area set aside for Admissions visitors. As you leave your car, follow signs to the Hartness Welcome Center/Admissions.
